Meet the Artists:

"Iolite Crystal Cowl" - requires a US 5 and US 7 16" circular needle or DPNs

Yelley is a knitter, crocheter, spinner, & maker in the San Francisco Bay Area, working to promote diversity and inclusiveness in the fiber arts world. Her goal is to create safer and more accessible spaces for marginalized folx (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Neurodivergent, Disabled, Fat, all kinds of marginalized folx!) through representation, visibility, and community building events. She lives in Alameda, California, with her partner, two very spoiled dogs, and a ridiculously large stash of purple and rainbow yarn.

Yelley immediately knew the color palette and dyer she wanted to work with for this project. Eva makes some of the dreamiest purples and her Butter Sock base is SO SQUISHY, it’s one of Yelley’s favorite yarns to work with!

The inspiration for the Iolite Crystal Cowl came from Yelley experimenting with different stitch patterns and using different colors together to create depth and texture. One of the experiments worked out and had a crystalline structure to it, and the Iolite Crystal Cowl was born! Iolite crystal helps in recovering balance, and is recommended for those suffering from disorientation, lack of motivation, chronic disorganization, and distraction. It strengthens the resolve to take on responsibility and carry through, and provides self-assurance and endurance in adverse situations, something we all need after recent global events!

"Montana Sapphire and Iolite" yarn-

Eva is the dyer behind Seismic Yarn & Dyeworks, based just outside of San Francisco, CA. Eva makes color to rock your world, and she does this on some exquisitely soft bases.

A San Francisco native, Eva is inspired by her hometown, her life, her children, and the silly stories that punctuate their days. Eva brings her love of science and lab equipment into her dyeing, and she has discovered a love of both eye searing, black light reactive neons as well as creating color for people who, like her, are afraid to wear color.

Eva’s children, affectionately known as the #SeismicDyeInterns are very much a part of this family business as is her incredibly patient #YarnHusband, all inspiring her as well as helping get the yarn out their living room!

"Crystal" Stitch Marker set-

Hello, my name is Claudia but I go by Claud. I am an Indigenous & Latine, non-binary fiber artist & maker. I say fiber artist because if it has yarn, fiber or floof, I want in. And I say maker because my mind likes to explore and wander other creative craft and hobbies, from making earrings to soaps and candles and now making these stitch markers! I believe my inspiration for anything I make comes from my cultural background as well as nature.

I am so excited and honored to be working with and be included among such amazing BIPOC creative makers!

*Please note: Each crystal is unique, so the size, shape and cut will differ for all the stitch markers.*

"Offering" Bowl-

Makeda Getachew is a functional ceramic artist working just outside of Washington, DC, where she lives with her partner and a handful of pets. Perpetually experimenting, she seeks to make pieces that will become part of our daily rituals and reminders of home.

*Please note: Each Offering bowl is hand thrown & unique, and will have a special glaze to coordinate with the box.*
