Craft: Knitting

Specs:

Dimensions: 67’’ / 170 cm length, 2.5” / 6.5 cm width at middle

Needles: US 4 / 3.50 mm (straight or circular), any length to accommodate stitches; or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle

Skill level: Easy

Gauge: 13 sts x 20 rows in Garter stitch = 2” / 5 cm square, steam blocked

Techniques: Increases, decreases, short rows, elongated stitches, I-cord edge

Pattern Notes: Dorid is a skinny scarf worked flat in Garter stitch. It starts from one tip and continues toward to the other. Stitches are increased in the starting tip, then decreased in the ending tip to have a mirrored look. The ruffles are constructed with easy short rows, no special technique is required.
Elongated stitches occur because of this lack of a special technique, but these stitches give a decorative touch. Plain Garter rows are worked for the middle to create a better neck fit. I-cords are worked to polish the edges.

Care Instructions:
A little extra care will ensure you prolong the life of your projects. Our yarns are machine-washable on a cool, delicate cycle, however hand-washing in cold water with a small amount of wool wash is highly recommended. Lay flat to dry, never use a dryer. Washing your gauge swatch is advised, especially if using contrasted, dark, or saturated colors.
