Dimensions: 21”/53 cm circumference, intended to fit with 0-2”/5 cm negative ease x 6.26”/ 16 cm height

Needles: US 10/6 mm, circular and/or DPN, with a short (16”/ 40 cm) or longer cord (worked using Magic loop technique) or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle, locking stitch markers as needed, smooth scrap yarn for lifelines

Skill level: Easy

Gauge: 9 sts x 18 rnds in Stockinette stitch, using US 10/6mm needle = 4”/10 cm, unblocked

Techniques: Circular cast on, knitting in the round, knit into front & back increases, knit 2 together decreases

Pattern Notes: The Buklet hat is worked in one piece from the top down with minimal finishing. It’s knit in the round using DPNs or circular needles and Magic loop technique. The crown of the hat starts with the circular cast on. It’s knit in Stockinette stitch, increasing to get the needed circumference for the body, then brim of the hat. A relatively dense gauge, and a series of either purl ridges and/or rapid increases immediately followed by decreases lend the hat its structure.
