Our Mend Your Knits workshop empowers you with the skills to make expert repairs, whether you want them to disappear or become a celebrated feature.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn to master:

· Invisible Mending: Perfect the art of Swiss Darning (duplicate stitch) to seamlessly repair small holes and snags.
· Traditional Darning: Learn a strong, durable technique for reinforcing thin fabric and repairing larger holes, like sock heels.
· Dropped Stitch Rescue: Confidently pick up and secure dropped stitches in stockinette, garter, and ribbing.
· Proactive Reinforcement: Discover how to strengthen weak areas like elbows and cuffs before they become holes.
· Visible Mending: Explore creative techniques to turn your repairs into beautiful, decorative statements.
· Secure Finishing: Learn professional methods for weaving in ends so your repairs (and your original work) never unravel.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner. Students must know how to knit and purl comfortably. This is a repair class, not a learn-to-knit class.

Please Bring:

· A damaged knit item that needs repair (handmade or store-bought) e.g., a sweater with a hole, socks with worn heels.
· Alternatively: Make a simple 4x4in stockinette swatch in light colored medium weight yarn (Worsted or DK). Please block your swatch so that it lays flat.
· A small amount of matching yarn (or a fun contrasting color for visible mending!).
· A darning or tapestry needle.
· (Optional) A darning mushroom or egg. We will have some available to borrow.
