Dye Hard Yarns is a small boutique yarn shop and community dye studio, located just east of Forest Park, in the heart of the Oak Park Arts District on Harrison street. We are between Austin and Ridgeland.
We are the home of indie yarn-dyers, hand-dyers, artisans, makers and small family businesses near and far.

It's become our mission to help you achieve your project dreams, and to build a community centered around joy, and a shared love for the fiber arts.
Learn to hand-dye yarn:
Part of the fun of stitching is working with all of the beautifully dyed yarns available. From solids to tonals, variegated and speckled, the possibilities are endless.
At our community dye studio you will learn to create your very own hand dyed yarns!
Create one of a kind skeins and let your imagination be your limit.
Learn the basic principles of dyeing in this introductory workshop. We'll discuss tools and equipment, as well as dye studio health and safety. We'll put theory into practice and each student will have a chance to try their hand at dyeing 2 skeins of superwash merino yarn. The Intro to dyeing class includes all supplies for the class.
Join our dye studio and become a part of our community! This workshop is a prerequisite for all other regular dye classes and meets the orientation requirements for non-professional Dye Studio use/membership. Which means, you can rent our community dye studio whenever you wish or even become a Member!
Residents of Forest Park or visitors to the area can come to the Dye Hard Yarns yarn shop boutique and dye studio in Oak Park, on Harrison street between Austin Ave. and Ridgeland. We are conveniently located in the heart of the Art's District, steps away from the Austin Blue Line CTA train stop and bus line, and mere blocks away from the 290 expressway. There is plenty of on-street parking.
