How to Participate

There are several ways to participate in the Chicago Yarn Crawl! We absolutely love when you visit, but if you’re unable to crawl in person, you can also participate with us virtually!

Passports - The Yarn Crawl Passport will be available to download the first day of the crawl. Print it out to get a stamp for every store you visit in person, or mark off shops you virtually visit! The passport is a great guide for shop information, and to make notes about each shop, like which ones you want to visit, what yarn you purchased from each shop, and your favorite thing about your visit!

CYC Swag - Our 2024 swag is available here.

If you pre-ordered your swag items with us, they will be available for pick up or shipping on the first day of the crawl.

Buttons - You can collect your shop button by visiting our shop during the CYC dates.

Free Patterns - We have free Knit and Crochet patterns available for crawlers. You can download the free patterns here.

Events - Dye Hard Yarns is hosting 3 trunk shows this year!

Muud Trunk Show: Fine, Handcrafted, Danish Leather Bags, Accessories & Organizers for Crafting, Home, Work, Pets and Travel. (7/14 - 8/5)

Lofty Peaks Yarn Trunk Show: Merino Worsted and Merino/Silk Fingering in 50g skeins. Committed to sustainability, this Non Profit introduced a naturally dyed wool collection created by Indigenous people in the Himalayan mountains who use local plants and flowers to create beautiful, vibrant colors. Because their dye practices have become a lost art, Naari dyers and artisans are reviving this skill to organically dye wool in magnificent and elegant hues. (7/20-7/28) (Grab lunch, a treat or coffee and savor the local flavor)

Universal Yarn Garment Trunk Show: Come see, feel, try on and fall in love with these gorgeous handmade garments and accessories stitched in Universal's amazing yarns! There's even an adorable crocheted toy to coo over. (7/20-8/9)

We've also brought in new yarns from Plymouth Yarns, Urth Yarns & Universal Yarn. Squishing is mandatory!

How to Enter Our Shop Raffle: You can enter to win our Shop Raffle Basket by stopping into our shop and entering in person, or by placing an order online during the Crawl. Watch our Social Media pages for other chances to win. Our raffle prize will be announced in August.

We are excited and thankful for the many sponsors who contribute to make the Chicago Yarn Crawl special! This year we have put together 19 Crawl Sponsored Baskets! 

How to Enter the Sponsor Raffle: To enter the raffle for the Chicago Yarn Crawl Sponsored baskets, you must be registered for the 2024 Chicago Yarn Crawl here. When you visit a shop, enter your contact information and you're in! The more shops you visit, the more chances you have to win! The raffle prizes will be announced by the Chicago Yarn Crawl in August.

If you are an out-of-state winner, the prize will be mailed to you. Local residents, please plan on picking up your prize at your local LYS. Prizes will only be shipped within the US.
