Truest Lavender was created for Arohaknits and Knitstars 5.0
Frenchie of Arohaknits asked me to create "the most beautiful, dreamy purple/lavender".
I was nervous, so I bought a bouquet of Lavender and stared at the color for days. Experimenting and comparing. I created and tossed out 6 or 7 recipes before finding THE recipe.
Francoise has created a stunning cowl called Whiria specifically for this yarn.
It is a beautiful pattern, with deep meaning to both of us. The pattern is based off of the kūmara leaf. There are elements of leaves and "weaving". Francoise wanted to ensure the design captured the meaning of the song. "Whiria te tāngata" (weave the people together) There's a line in the song that goes "people are like the kūmara vine".
It is my fervent hope that this is EXACTLY what we as human beings will learn to do in this world. For we are better together.
