My First Sweater: Knit the Flax pullover

Dive into garment making and knit your first sweater with the Flax sweater pattern by Tin Can Knits! This basic raglan pullover will be a staple garment in your closet. It's a sweater crafted simply, in a method that is efficiently knitted from the top of your body down to your waist. It's designed with minimal flourishes, and sized with comfortable but streamlined ease.

Please choose your yarn at least a week ahead or have it dyed by Kitty Pride Fibers in time for class! 

The "Flax worsted" pattern is included with your class.

Basic knitting skills required.

Materials needed:

Yarn:
Worsted weight or Aran yarn

Yardage for cropped length: 220 (240, 270, 320, 380, 450, 500, 620, 710, 750, 780, 850, 950, 1100, 1150, 1350, 1450, 1600, 1750) yards

Yardage for regular length: 270 (300, 310, 440, 500, 680, 700, 800, 850, 1000, 1050, 1100, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800, 2000, 2100) yards

Needles:
US 6 (4 mm) and US 8 (5 mm) (or as required to meet gauge)

0-6 mo - 4 yrs: 16” circulars and DPNs in each size*
4 yrs - XS: 16” circulars, 24” circulars, and DPNs in each size*
S - XXL: 16” circulars, 32” circulars, and DPNs in each size*
3XL - 6XL: 16” circulars, 48” circulars, and DPNs in each size*

Notions:
stitch markers, darning needle, scissors

Alternatively you can use the magic loop technique to knit in the round using a single long circular needle.

Gauge
18 sts and 22 rows/ 4” in stockinette stitch in the round on larger needles

0-6 mo (6-12 mo, 1-2 yrs, 2-4 yrs, 4-6 yrs, 6-8 yrs, 8-10 yrs, XS, S, S/M, M, M/L, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL)
