Ruuno is a relaxed cropped cardigan with a cozy bouclé texture featuring decorative faux seam details and a wide ribbed collar. This cardigan is knit up in Lanalpaca, an all-natural boucle yarn in a 50/50 blend of superbaby alpaca and merino that's warm, cuddly, lusciously soft and works up quickly!

Notions: Tapestry needle, locking stitch markers, stitch holders, smooth scrap yarn for lifelines or holding stitches

Skill level: Intermediate

Gauge: 8 stitches and 14.5 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch

Techniques: German short rows, picking up stitches

Pattern Notes: Ruuno is worked from the top down, starting at the upper back shaped with German short rows. Stitches for front pieces are picked up at the shoulders. After working down to the armholes, the pieces are joined. Stitches are picked up to work the applied ribbed collar first, then the sleeves.

Faux seams are created by picking up stitches to add stability, structure and shape. The collar edges slightly overlap in the center front when laid flat.

The cardigan is worn with the purl side of the fabric as RS, but can be worn with the knit (WS) side facing if preferred.

Care Instructions:
A little extra care will ensure you prolong the life of your projects. Our yarns are machine-washable on a cool, delicate cycle, however hand-washing in cold water with a small amount of wool wash is highly recommended. Lay flat to dry, never use a dryer. Washing your gauge swatch is advised, especially if using contrasted, dark, or saturated colors.
