Knitting Tips and Tricks

Learn the tricks that can make your projects look more polished and your knitting more enjoyable. From choosing the perfect cast-on and bind-off, to everything in between, learn simple tricks to make your knitting better. Learn how to create a better SSK, neater ribbing, or avoid the gap at the end of a bind off. How to avoid the jog in a circular cast on, neaten the edges of your knitting, choose the best way to join a new ball of yarn, or weave in those ends. New cast-ons and bind-offs taught!

*Call to schedule* Classes are held in person at our yarn shop. *Virtual lessons are always available for those who wish.*

Materials needed:

• Worsted or DK weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors 
• 2 size US 7 or 8 circular knitting needles with a 16” and a 24" cord
• size US 5 OR 6 circular knitting needles (16”)
• darning needle
• scissors

(You're welcome to bring projects that need polishing)

Homework:

1. Knit one 5x5in swatch

    Pattern is: *K2, P2 repeat from *  (do not bind off)

3 hour Workshop 

Basic knitting skills required.

*Covid Compliance: Our instructors are fully vaccinated and boosted. In order to keep other customers and students safe, we require that students must be fully vaccinated and boosted and provide verification of vaccination (and booster) dates. Start date of this class must be at least 2 weeks after booster dose. N95/KN95 Masks are required throughout the class and hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry. (We will have extra KN95 masks on hand) If you have a fever, cold or flu-like symptoms, are not feeling well, or have been exposed to someone with Covid, please notify us and do not attend the session.
