Knitting Skill Builder Course

Build your knitting skills one square at a time!

If you've just learned how to knit, or would like to increase your knitting skills, this is the class for you. Throughout the course you will learn lots of different skills including 12 stitch patterns, pattern reading, chart reading, increases/decreases, bobbles, twisted stitches, lace and cables!

This course uses a series of 12 fun patterns that will build your knitting skills. Starting with simple knit and purl stitches, your confidence will grow as you progress through several major knitting principles. Each block focuses on new stitches and techniques in a sequential fashion that “builds” upon the previously learned skill.

At the end of the series, the knitter is rewarded with an abundance of knitting know-how and 12 beautiful squares to assemble into a sampler afghan, baby blanket, pillows or anything limited only by your imagination!

Class is held every Saturday 1pm - 2pm at our yarn shop. Jump in anytime!

Class limit is 5 students. 7yrs to adult. *Children must be old enough to sit comfortably focused and intent on learning for an hour.*

Materials needed:

• US 6 - 9 Knitting needles
• Tapestry needle
• Cable needle (metal or bamboo)
• Stitch markers
• 140yds per square or 1,680 yards of Dk or Worsted weight yarn (patterns might not show well if overly variegated color is used)
• Scissors

You need to be able to cast on, knit stitch, and bind off. (We can help refresh these skills if needed)

**Health Compliance: Our instructors are fully vaccinated. In order to keep other students safe, we require that all students be fully vaccinated and provide verification of vaccination dates. Start date of your class must be at least 2 weeks after vaccination. N95/KN95 Masks are required throughout the class and hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry. (We will have extra KN95 masks on hand) If you have a fever, cold or flu-like symptoms, are not feeling well, or have been exposed to someone with these symptoms, please notify us and do not attend the session.**
