In this class, participants will be introduced to the knitting machine, it’s history and parts. Students will learn how to thread the machine, cast on, shape knitwear, and bind off.
In addition to being faster, the knitting machine is a fantastic option for those with hand dexterity challenges.
Faith Humphrey Hill is a portrait artist who has been creating a knit layer of her artwork on a 1950’s (non-electronic) knitting machine. The knitting machine develops a fabric faster than hand knitting, allowing in the creation of multiple knit frames for Faith’s recent foray into animation.
